Synopsis

Saga opens with a birth in the middle of a war. Alana and Marko come from opposite sides of a galaxy-spanning conflict — she from the technologically advanced planet Landfall, he from its moon, Wreath — and their love, and the daughter it produces, is treason to both. Hazel, that daughter, narrates the story of her parents' desperate flight from the moment she is born.

Hunted by both armies and by a rogue's gallery of bounty hunters, Alana and Marko run across a strange and beautiful universe of ghost babysitters, robot aristocrats, and worlds no one should ever visit, trying to build a family in the middle of a conflict that wants them dead.

Collecting the first six issues of the acclaimed Image Comics series by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, Saga, Volume One launches one of the most celebrated space operas in modern comics — a bawdy, violent, tender epic about parenthood, war, and love across enemy lines.
