Synopsis

Roland Britten, an accountant and amateur jockey, wakes up to a terrifying reality: he's bound and gagged, his hands immobilized, with only the sound of a generator for company. He's trapped in darkness, unsure of his location, his captor, or his fate. Britten must use his wits to escape his predicament and uncover the reason behind his kidnapping.

Dick Francis (1920–2010) was a British steeplechase jockey turned crime novelist. Born in Coedcanlas, Pembrokeshire, Wales, he served as an RAF pilot in the Second World War before becoming one of Britain's leading National Hunt jockeys, riding over 350 winners and serving as jockey to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother — most famously aboard Devon Loch, which collapsed within sight of victory in the 1956 Grand National. After retiring from racing in 1957 he became a journalist and then a novelist...
