Synopsis

The series' final volume brings the apocalypse Promethea has been circling since the beginning, with guest appearances from across the America's Best Comics universe as old allies try to do what they've always done: save the day, one more time.

True to form for a series this openly concerned with the nature of stories and belief, the finale breaks the fourth wall outright, with Promethea addressing the reader directly as the line between the comic and the act of reading it dissolves.

Collecting issues #26–32, Promethea Book 5 closes out Alan Moore and J.H. Williams III's run with an ending that's less about defeating a villain than about what it means for a story, and a world, to end.
