Synopsis

Pies and Prejudice is the first Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery by Ellery Adams, a cozy mystery with a strand of magic running through it. Ella Mae LeFay leaves her cheating husband and returns to her hometown of Havenwood, Georgia, where her mother and three aunts push her toward the one thing she has always been good at: baking pies.

She opens the Charmed Pie Shoppe — and finds out why the name fits. Whatever Ella Mae is feeling while she bakes goes into the crust and comes out in whoever eats it, with results ranging from blue tears to public indecency. Her old nemesis Loralyn Gaynor is not pleased to have her back, and her childhood crush Hugh Dylan very much is.

When Loralyn's fiancé is found dead, killed with Ella Mae's own rolling pin, she has to clear her name. The book blends small-town cozy mystery with light magical realism and a food-centred setting.
