Synopsis
Jules Capshaw has spent years as a pastry chef on a cruise ship. Fleeing a marriage that has run aground, she comes home to Ashland, Oregon, planning a short stay helping her mother run Torte, the family bakeshop across from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
The town is in full theatre season and the ovens never stop. Then a body turns up, suspicion lands close to Torte, and Jules finds herself piping buttercream by day and picking apart alibis by night — with her charming, unwanted husband Carlos liable to turn up at any moment.
