No Brainer

After test scores tank and the school makes the news for all the wrong reasons, the superintendent axes the current principal and drags a retired one, Mr. Bottoms, out of retirement to whip things into shape. When the district threatens to shut the school down entirely and scatter its students, Greg is horrified — not by leaving, but by getting separated from his best friend Rowley.

At Slacksville Middle School, Greg discovers a place with even lower standards than his own — and unexpectedly becomes a minor celebrity for something as simple as knowing how to tell time. He even lands a girlfriend, Sophie, whose family connection turns out to hold the key to saving Greg's old school after all. The 18th entry in Jeff Kinney's bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
