Synopsis

Greg Heffley is starting his second year of middle school and wants nothing more than to leave a mortifying summer behind him — but there's one big problem: his older brother Rodrick knows exactly what happened, and he's holding it over Greg's head.

The second Diary of a Wimpy Kid follows the escalating warfare between the two brothers: their mom's misguided "Mom Bucks" scheme to make them get along, Rodrick's forbidden house party and the incriminating photo that follows, and a disastrous trip to grandpa's retirement home where Greg's precious journal nearly falls into the wrong hands. Meanwhile Greg keeps chasing status and dodging blame with his usual mix of scheming and self-delusion.

Told in Greg's deadpan entries and Jeff Kinney's signature cartoons, Rodrick Rules is a laugh-out-loud comic novel about sibling rivalry, embarrassing secrets, and the special torment of having an older brother.
