Milkman

Set during the height of The Troubles in 1970s Northern Ireland, this novel follows an unnamed eighteen-year-old woman as she is stalked and harassed by a man known only as Milkman — a high-ranking paramilitary figure who becomes obsessed with her. Told through dense, stream-of-consciousness prose that mirrors the paranoia of wartime Belfast, the story builds toward a violent confrontation between the two men in her life.
