Hellboy Omnibus Volume 1: Seed of Destruction

Published: 2018
Language: English

This omnibus collects Hellboy's earliest chronological adventures, from his mysterious 1944 origin as a demon summoned by Nazi occultists to his 1994 confrontation with the very man who called him to Earth — the sorcerer Rasputin and the emerging plague of frogs threatening humanity. Reprinting Seed of Destruction, Wake the Devil, and several key short stories, the collection follows Hellboy as he chooses to fight for the B.P.R.D. alongside Abe Sapien and Liz Sherman rather than fulfill his foretold role as harbinger of the apocalypse.

Mike Mignola's noir-inflected horror art and mythology-steeped storytelling establish the tone and world that define the entire Hellboy saga.
