First Kisses and Other Misfortunes

First Kisses and Other Misfortunes is a sweet companion novella to Kimberly Karalius's Love Fortunes and Other Disasters, returning to the whimsical town of Grimbaud. After freeing Martin from the illegal love charms of his manipulative ex, Nico was certain their romance would be everything he'd waited for. But months have passed and he's still waiting for his first kiss, crowded out by Martin's dedication to student government and Nico's responsibilities at his family's tourism business.

The upcoming Canal Festival — and Nico's beloved Water Parade — promises exactly the kind of romance Grimbaud does best. There's only one problem: Martin is terrified of drowning. A short, tender m/m romance about the gap between the perfect kiss you imagine and the messier love that's actually yours.
