Synopsis

Three years after the events of Nadie en esta tierra, Soria is counting down the days to retirement in a quiet posting on Lanzarote, his war-model collection and his wife the only things keeping him steady. That peace breaks when he is assigned the hit-and-run death of Vesna, a young Bosnian woman struck and left to die on a night road. What looks like a routine case starts turning up bodies and connections that reach far past the island.

Virginia, his former companion from Julián Leal's story, has taken a very different path since — and the two find themselves pulled, separately and then together, into a criminal network where multinationals, politicians and judges all have a hand. Víctor del Árbol builds the novel in the elaborate, unhurried style he is known for, tracing how the hunger for power reshapes ordinary people.

El tiempo de las fieras is the second book in the Trilogía del sicario sin nombre, following Nadie en esta tierra (2023) and preceding Las buenas intenciones (2026).
