In 1955 Missouri, Loretta Davenport lives a quiet, isolated life as a mother and the wife of a conservative Bible college professor. But when a local girl is murdered, Loretta begins hearing terrifying messages from the dead. While her controlling husband dismisses her visions as delusions and tries to force her into submission, Loretta seeks help from a parapsychologist who believes her gift is real.
