Synopsis

Cold Hearted is the eighth entry in Serena Valentino's Villains series, reimagining Cinderella's stepmother before she was a villain. Widowed and raising two daughters alone, Lady Tremaine allows herself a second chance at love with the charming Sir Richard, only for the marriage to unravel into hardship and resentment. The novel traces the slow erosion of her hope and kindness, showing the choices and losses that harden her into the woman Cinderella will one day know as her stepmother.

It's a sympathetic, sometimes tragic character study that asks readers to see a Disney villain as someone shaped by circumstance rather than born cruel.
