Born of Flame

The Salamanders come from Nocturne, a world of fire, and hold to self-sacrifice and the value of every human life. Their primarch Vulkan was raised there as a blacksmith's son before the Emperor found him, and he forged his sons into a Legion in his own image.

This fiftieth Horus Heresy volume collects Nick Kyme's Salamanders fiction: the novellas Promethean Sun and Scorched Earth, the novel Sons of the Forge, and the connected short stories Artefacts and Immortal Duty. Across them the Legion is brought close to destruction more than once and keeps fighting.
