Wildmane

Wildmane
Synopsis
Amarion has no magic left. Three hundred years ago the GodSpill — the magical essence that ran through everything — was drained away, and what has followed is slow ruin: the land dying by degrees, and humans physically devolving. The demigod who was their protector, the one they called Wildmane, withdrew into exile and stopped answering.
Mirolah is living quietly with her adopted family when a monster arrives looking specifically for her. It kills her adopted sister instead. The attack does two things at once — it ends the life she had, and it exposes what she is: a threadweaver, able to see and pull on the threads that reality is made from.
What she sets out to do is bring Wildmane out of exile and put the GodSpill back. What comes for her are the undead threadweavers who survived the old magical age and would rather she failed. Staying alive means finding out how far her ability actually goes, and the answer is further than she thought — for her, and for threadweaving itself.
