Synopsis

Harlow is facing serious legal trouble for hacking into a billion-dollar bank account to pay for her brother's life-saving surgery — until the director of Lakestone Campus in Seattle unexpectedly offers her a scholarship and community service instead of prosecution. She takes the deal and buries her past, telling no one, including Zack, a literature student who can't speak due to a genetic condition.

As Zack gets closer to her, so does the hacking network she thought she'd left behind. "What We Fear" opens Alexandra Flint's Lakestone Campus of Seattle trilogy, pairing a slow-burn campus romance with a ticking-clock thread about a past that refuses to stay buried.
