The Rocker's Muse
Synopsis
A twenty-two-year-old college graduate drives into the California desert for reasons she keeps to herself. Deep in the rocky emptiness she finds a recording studio, and when a door opens, a man takes her for a job candidate he is due to interview. She is pulled inside and ends up auditioning for an assistant post on the upcoming tour of one of America's most famous rock bands.
She bombs the interview. On her way out she wanders into the men's room and chats with a stranger who turns out to be the lead singer, Tristan Daltrey. He likes that she has no idea who he is. That night, she gets a call offering her the job.
On tour, thousands of women adore Tristan, yet after the shows he wants only her company. They share late-night talks and casual dinners in his hotel room, even though she is not supposed to be spending time with the frontman. The fifteen-year age gap between them does not stop the connection.
She is hiding a secret, and it will force her off the tour and send Tristan and the band to the small town she comes from. This is a standalone contemporary romance told in the first person by the heroine, with a slow-burning closeness at its centre.
