Synopsis

The first book in The Perfect Nurse series. Darcy is a nurse with a colourful past who spends as much time looking after herself as she does her patients. Alongside her sister Pippa, she takes on a new private assignment caring for Scarlett, a woman who now needs full-time care following an accident. From the moment they meet Scarlett and her partner, Darcy senses that something about the household is not right, and she sets out to uncover the truth. The unease deepens as Darcy becomes convinced she is being stalked, and one day wakes to find an intruder in her own home. As the layers peel back, it becomes clear that Darcy herself has done something terrible, breaking the rules a nurse is sworn to follow. Building to one of Hurst's trademark twists that turns the story in an unexpected direction, this fast-paced psychological thriller launches the trilogy that continues in The Nurse's Lie and concludes in The Nurse's Mistake.
