Synopsis

When twelve-year-old Alberta moves with her family from Los Angeles to a small, predominantly white beach town in Oregon, she and her adopted sister, Edie, find themselves to be the only Black girls in town. They soon discover a box of old journals from the 1980s, written by two other Black girls who lived in the same house decades earlier. As they read, Alberta and Edie uncover a mystery that connects them to the past and helps them navigate their present.
