Synopsis

The Khmer Kill is a short story by bestselling thriller author Barry Eisler featuring Dox, the wisecracking former Marine sniper and mercenary who first appeared as a supporting character in Eisler's John Rain assassin novels. What starts as a routine long-range hit in Cambodia spirals into something far more dangerous when Dox is pulled into rogue intelligence operations and uncovers a brutal human-trafficking network.

As the job turns personal, Dox is forced to weigh how far he is willing to go to make it right — testing the line between professional detachment and personal reckoning that runs through Eisler's assassin fiction.

At roughly 65 pages, The Khmer Kill is a fast-paced entry in the Dox side stories, delivering the tense, morally grey action Eisler's readers expect in a single-sitting read.
