Synopsis

When a power company employee witnesses something disturbing in a remote, unclaimed patch of forest known as 'the gore,' his grip on reality shatters, leading to his suicide. Ex-newspaperman Roger Newton finds himself drawn into the mystery when the man's son, best friend, and an elder risk an expedition into the forbidden land. Newton's attempt to intervene inadvertently unleashes an ancient, terrifying force upon the unsuspecting people of Vermont.
