Synopsis

In The Bassoon King, actor Rainn Wilson traces his path from a self-described "bone-numbingly nerdy" childhood — split between Nicaragua, Olympia, and a Seattle suburb — through drama school at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and lean years acting off-Broadway in New York City, to his breakout role as Dwight Schrute on The Office. Along the way he writes candidly about reconnecting with the Baha'i faith he was raised in, and about co-founding an arts nonprofit for girls in Haiti with his wife. The book includes a foreword written in character by Dwight Schrute.
