Synopsis

Sweet Tomorrows brings Debbie Macomber's Rose Harbor series to a close in the seaside town of Cedar Cove. Nine months have passed since Mark Taylor left abruptly to settle an old wrong, and although he confessed his love before he went, innkeeper Jo Marie Rose has no idea whether he is ever coming back. Determined not to spend her life waiting, she starts dating again and looks for a way forward.

Company arrives in the form of Emily Gaffney, a kindergarten teacher recovering from a twice-broken heart. Emily has given up on marriage but not on the idea of adopting children, and she takes a room at the inn while she hunts for a house with room enough for a family. The house she wants belongs to Nick, who has no wish to sell, and their prickly first meetings slowly turn into something else.

Told across several points of view, the novel keeps to the gentle register that made the series popular: a story about letting go of fear, taking a second chance, and the way the inn quietly does its work on everyone who stays there.
