Synopsis

Picking up directly from Hunters of Dune, this novel brings the long saga begun by Frank Herbert to its conclusion. Aboard the no-ship Ithaca, a band of exiles — including gholas of the saga's most famous figures, resurrected to face a final crisis — flees across the cosmos from an ancient and implacable Enemy that has been hunting humanity for millennia.

As the identity and purpose of the Enemy become clear, the survivors of the Bene Gesserit and their allies must confront the ultimate threat to human freedom: the return of the thinking machines and the culmination of a plan set in motion long before. Old prophecies, the Golden Path, and the fate of the entire species converge.

Written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson from Frank Herbert's notes for the unwritten "Dune 7," Sandworms of Dune completes the story left open at the end of Chapterhouse: Dune and ties together the threads of the extended Dune universe.
