A week into his new life as the undead overlord Ainz Ooal Gown, Momonga leads his guild from the depths of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. In need of better intelligence on the world outside, he travels in disguise as an adventurer to the walled city of E-Rantel, accompanied by the battle maid Narberal. The pair take on a mission to retrieve medicinal herbs from a forest said to be home to a great and wise beast. But a fanatical cabal is closing in on E-Rantel, and Ainz will be forced to confront both a ruthless warrior and a legion of the undead.
