Momonga, a devoted player of the virtual reality game Yggdrasil, finds himself inexplicably transported to another world identical to the game after its servers shut down. Trapped in his skeletal avatar and discovering that the NPCs have gained sentience, he sets out to uncover the truth behind his predicament. With his loyal subjects, Momonga decides to take control of this new world.
