Emily Austin was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. She studied English literature, religious studies, and library science at Western University. She received two writing grants from the Canada Council for the Arts. She currently lives in Ottawa, in the territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation.

Synopsis
Jane is a telemarketer who uses a different name for each call, but soon it becomes clear she is repeatedly calling the same man. Each interaction escalates into a battle, with the man growing angrier and more threatening. Jane, however, has a hidden purpose and a past that shifts with every retelling, making for a sharp, funny, and dark exploration of identity and connection.
