Synopsis

The revelation of how Maika's mother really died breaks something in her, and this volume follows the fallout. To have any hope of saving her soul, Maika's allies find themselves traveling to a brutal, beautiful prison planet, the place where the Monstra have been confined for generations, and the site of Zinn's own worst memories.

Returning to that planet means confronting the origins of the Known World itself, and the deeper history behind Zinn's imprisonment inside Maika in the first place. The path forward, it turns out, runs straight through the past.

Collecting issues #42–48 of Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda's series, Inferno pushes the story's mythology to its widest scope yet while keeping Maika's unraveling at its emotional center.
