Synopsis

The Defiled, a faction of Monstra long imprisoned on the planet Golga, have found a way through a rift between worlds, and they've possessed anyone who has ever held the Mask of the Shaman-Empress. That list includes Maika, the young fox girl Kippa, and even Maika's own father, the Lord Doctor.

Separated from Zinn and facing an invasion that has taken over the people closest to her, Maika has to find allies in the unlikeliest places to fight back and protect everyone she loves, even the ones the Defiled have turned into weapons against her.

Collecting issues #55–60, Hollow Gods is the most reflective and unsettling volume of the series to date, built around gods that have lost their meaning and heroes who no longer know what they're fighting for.
