Synopsis

Three Wolverine novels share one volume, with the origin story Weapon X leading the set. The omnibus gathers them together for the first time.

Weapon X goes back to the time before Logan joins the X-Men, when he is a mutant loner with no direction. The story follows the cruel process that turns him into Wolverine, seen from the side of the people who torment him. They want to build an indestructible man as the ultimate weapon. When Logan breaks free, violence spreads among everyone involved.

In Road of Bones, a government agency sends Wolverine to look into rumors of a miracle cure. A sinister underworld organization developed it and uses it to gain control over desperate African nations. His task is to stop the criminals' schemes and recover the panacea so it can be used for good. Logan learns that the hope it offers may turn to ashes.

Lifeblood begins with old memories returning to Wolverine of fighting in the Canadian army in World War II. As he digs, he finds he was held as a prisoner of war by a ruthless Nazi scientist who wanted the secret of his mutant healing powers. That scientist is still at large, and sixty years on he means to finish what he began.
