Synopsis

Life is Strange: Heatwaves picks up after the "leave Haven Springs" ending of Life is Strange: True Colors, following Alex Chen and Steph Gingrich as they set out with dreams of music and a fresh start together. Car trouble strands them in a desert town gutted by a prolonged heatwave and drought, where water is rationed for residents while being diverted to prop up a local senator's re-election campaign.

Moved by the town's anger and despair, Alex and Steph get pulled into the fight to help. When Alex uses her empathic powers to amplify the senator's fear of the unfolding climate crisis, hoping to force him into action, the plan backfires and emotions in the town spiral out of control. Alex and Steph have to find a way to repair the damage and revive the town's history of political organizing — while working out where their own relationship stands.

Written by Brittney Morris and published by Titan Books, the novel continues Alex's story from True Colors with a new emphasis on community, climate anxiety, and the costs of using power meant to help.
