Synopsis

Miss Annis Wychwood, a beautiful and independent heiress, is considered too old to marry at twenty-nine. Her plans to launch the young Lucilla Carleton into society are complicated by the arrival of Lucilla's formidable guardian, Mr. Oliver Carleton. Despite his notorious rudeness, Annis finds herself increasingly drawn to Oliver as they navigate the social intricacies of Regency Bath and deal with Lucilla's runaway antics.
