Synopsis

Knight of Shadows is the ninth novel in Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber, a sprawling epic of a multi-world realm where the Pattern of Order and the Logrus of Chaos are in constant, cosmic conflict. Merlin, a sorcerer and former prince of the royal family of Amber, sets out on a quest to uncover the truth about his past, his relationship with the mysterious Julia, and the forces that have shaped his life. As he travels through the Pattern and the Logrus, he confronts the mystery of his own power and the true nature of the forces at play. The novel is a lyrical, philosophical meditation on fate, choice, and the cost of knowledge, and a masterful addition to one of fantasy's most inventive series.
