Synopsis

Opening in the immediate aftermath of a devastating attack on the rebels, this third installment finds Juliette Ferrars uncertain whether her friends, her allies, or Adam survived. She wakes in the military compound where she was once held prisoner, now in the care of Warner, the young Reestablishment commander who was once her enemy. With the resistance scattered and the regime more dangerous than ever, Juliette resolves to take down the Reestablishment for good. To do it, she must rely on Warner, the one person she never imagined trusting, who offers to help her master her abilities and confront the forces destroying their world. As Juliette grows into her power and her sense of self, her relationships shift dramatically, straining old bonds and forging new ones. Concluding the series' original trilogy, the novel charts Juliette's transformation from a frightened, isolated girl into a determined leader willing to fight. Mafi sustains the intimate, lyrical narration while widening the scope toward open rebellion. Tensions among Juliette, Adam, Warner, and Kenji reach a breaking point as plans take shape to strike at the heart of the regime. Blending romance, action, and a hard-won reckoning with identity and power, the book brings the first arc of Juliette's story to a decisive turning point.
