Synopsis

Melanie Turner runs a high-end San Francisco renovation business and has an inconvenient habit of seeing ghosts in the houses she works on. When she volunteers for a neighbourhood restoration weekend, the derelict house next door to the project turns out to hold a body — and a haunting nobody wants to talk about.

Mel works the history of the property alongside the police investigation, and the two threads keep converging on the same buried secret. The renovation detail is the pleasure here: Juliet Blackwell writes trades, permits and period fixtures with real affection.

The fourth Haunted Home Renovation mystery, a paranormal cozy series that keeps its ghosts friendly and its murders solvable.
