Synopsis

In this late Chinaski novel, Bukowski's alter ego is drawn into the making of a film based on his own life and screenplay, a thinly veiled account of Bukowski's experience writing the movie Barfly. Henry Chinaski trades his usual barrooms for the absurd, money-soaked circus of the movie business, skewering Hollywood's egos and phoniness with the same deadpan wit he once turned on menial jobs. A satirical, autobiographical comedy from the master of American lowlife fiction.
