Synopsis

Chloe Brown has a good reason to play it safe: a chronic illness that once nearly killed her has taught her to be careful, controlled, and mostly housebound. But after a brush with death jolts her out of autopilot, she draws up a list—"Get a Life"—of seven risky, un-Chloe things to do, from riding a motorcycle to going camping to doing something "as wild as I can."

To tackle the list, she recruits exactly the wrong person: Redford "Red" Morgan, the tattooed, easygoing building superintendent she's convinced is a womanizing slacker. Red thinks Chloe is a stuck-up snob. But as they work through her directives together, each discovers the other is nothing like the assumption—Red hiding real artistic ambition and old wounds, Chloe hiding a warmth beneath her prickly armor.

The first book in Talia Hibbert's beloved Brown Sisters trilogy, Get a Life, Chloe Brown is a warm, funny, and genuinely sexy contemporary romance. It pairs a grumpy heroine with a sunshine hero, handles chronic illness and disability with rare tenderness, and kicks off a series about three sisters learning to reach for the lives—and love—they want.
