“I avoided anything that might make me feel worse. I was afraid. I quit netball. I quit my postgrad degree. I stopped going out with my friends. I didn’t stay up late because sleep was too precious. I refused to make plans because I never knew when my body might force me to change them. My friends disappeared one by one. I suppose my problems made them feel guilty.”
Chloe Brown has a list, a list to help her “get a life” her chronic illness has defined her for too long! Redford Morgan is her building’s superintendent who’s recovering from an upsetting past (which is another not often spoken about issue that was such a great highlight in this book! Read the book to find out). Redford and Chloe start a business relationship, he will help her tick off the items on her list and she will help him with his website designs. Little does she know that her list is going to have to change to fit in Mr Morgan!
This is probably the best book I have read in the last few years. I’ve never read a more relatable book in my life! A lot of people loved this for the sexy parts and omg, the steam in this book! re-ow…! But I loved it because Talia Hibbert wrote so honestly and so perfectly on what it’s like living with a chronic illness. Most of the writing on that almost had me in tears yelling at the book “Thats me!”
The characters were amazing and Redford! What a dream! But mind your language mister! (If you’re not one for crude language surrounding sex then look away!) Chloe is one of my favourite written characters. Her sass and wit and general “it’s my problem” attitude was refreshing! I want to be JUST like her.
If you have this on your shelf, just bloody read it already! Can’t wait for her next book!
