Friday Black (BIGSUR)

Friday Black is a piercingly raw debut story collection that offers a treacherously surreal and heartbreakingly satirical look at what it's like to be young and Black in America. Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah places ordinary characters in extraordinary situations to reveal the violence, injustice, and painful absurdities Black men and women contend with daily. These stories tackle urgent instances of racism and cultural unrest, exploring the many ways we fight for humanity in an unforgiving world.
