John Sommers-Flanagan is a clinical psychologist, professor of counselor education at the University of Montana, and author. He received his doctorate in psychology in 1986, completing his pre-doctoral internship at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY.

For many years, she served as a mental health consultant for the Vet Center in Missoula Montana and for Trapper Creek Job Corps. She has particular interests in feminist theory and therapy, as well as professional and applied ethics.
