Synopsis

A novella set in the Hopeless series universe, Finding Perfect follows Six — the sharp-tongued best friend introduced in Hopeless and given her own love story in Finding Cinderella — as she navigates the next chapter of her life alongside the characters readers know from the earlier books. Lighter in tone than the main series, it provides closure for Six and gives readers one final visit to the world of Hopeless, Losing Hope, and Finding Cinderella. Best read after completing those three entries for full emotional context.

Colleen Hoover was born on December 11, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, and grew up in nearby Saltillo. Frequently asked questions

  • Who is the main character of Finding Perfect?

Six — the best friend of the protagonist in Hopeless — is the focal character. She was first introduced in Hopeless and received her own love story in Finding Cinderella. Finding Perfect follows her further and is considered the final entry in the Hopeless series.

  • Do I need to read the other Hopeless series books before Finding Perfect?

Yes — Finding Perfect assumes knowledge of Hopeless, Losing Hope, and Finding Cinderella at minimum. Reading in series order provides the character context that makes Finding Perfect meaningful.

  • What is the tone of Finding Perfect?

Lighter and more optimistic than the main Hopeless series, which deals with significant trauma. Finding Perfect functions as a warm closing chapter for the series rather than introducing new heavy subject matter.

  • Is Finding Perfect the last book in the Hopeless series?

Yes — positioned at #3.5 after All Your Perfects (#3), it is the final entry in the five-book series as currently published.

  • How long is Finding Perfect?

It is a novella — considerably shorter than the main series novels. It was released in 2019 as the capstone to the Hopeless series universe.

  • Does Finding Perfect connect to All Your Perfects?

Both are part of the Hopeless series universe and were published close together (All Your Perfects in 2018, Finding Perfect in 2019). Characters from across the series may appear, though the primary focus is on Six rather than Quinn and Graham from All Your Perfects.
