Synopsis

Fever House is a 2023 genre-blending novel by Keith Rosson that fuses hardboiled crime with apocalyptic horror. When Portland enforcer Hutch Holtz discovers a severed hand that drives everyone near it to madness and self-destruction, he unwittingly sets off a chain of events that could end the world, and draws the attention of a ruthless secret government program.

Set across a single catastrophic night in Portland, Oregon, the book weaves together gangsters, black-ops agents, a former rock star with a dangerous secret, and a cursed artifact of terrifying power. Rosson pairs graphic violence and relentless momentum with sharply drawn, damaged characters and streaks of dark humour.

The first book in the Fever House duology, it earned praise from Stephen King and became a standout for readers who love supernatural thrillers, cosmic horror, and crime fiction. Fans of Nick Cutter and Paul Tremblay will find plenty to devour before the sequel, Devil by Name.
