Synopsis

For nearly forty years, the Florida theme park FantasticLand has promised its visitors that "Fun Is Guaranteed!" When a devastating hurricane bears down, most guests evacuate, but a skeleton crew of college-aged employees stays behind to ride it out — cut off from the outside world and, per park policy, stripped of their phones. Rescue is supposed to come in days.

It takes more than a month. When investigators finally reach the park, they find a scene of nightmarish savagery: the young workers have splintered into warring tribes along the lines of their themed lands, and the bodies tell a story no one wants to believe.

Assembled from interviews with survivors, investigators, and park staff, Mike Bockoven's FantasticLand is a chilling, Lord of the Flies-style horror story about how quickly order collapses, and what fills the void when the performance of normal life is torn away.
