Synopsis

In 1920s New Orleans, jazz pianist Del Dubois is framed for murder amidst the city's corruption and prejudice. His childhood friend, Meg Wagstaff, returns from war-torn Europe to prove his innocence, but she faces opposition from city attorney Gabe St. Clair, who is convinced of Del's guilt. As they navigate Prohibition-era lawlessness and racial injustice, all three characters grapple with hidden pain from the Great War and a search for hope.
