Synopsis

After a devastating mine cave-in claims his brother and nearly his own life, coal miner Judd Markley flees West Virginia for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 1954. There, he meets Larkin Heyward, a local woman who dreams of helping children in Appalachia. Drawn together by a powerful hurricane, Judd and Larkin find themselves seeking answers about their future. As their differing aspirations create obstacles, they must discover if their love can overcome their divergent paths.
