Johann, the junior manager of the Ortel-Gebirgsbahnen cable car company, travels to the mountain with his chief engineer Julia to investigate the fault, and the two check into the Berghotel while they work. When Julia suddenly disappears from the hotel, Johann discovers the cable car stalled in its outer coupling just above the ground — and must piece together what happened to her.\n\nLike the rest of the series, it combines light suspense with romance against an alpine backdrop, in a quick, comforting read rather than a complex thriller.
