Cells at Work! Baby 1

Cells at Work! Baby 1
Synopsis
A spinoff of Akane Shimizu's Cells at Work!, following the cells inside a developing infant's body rather than an adult's. The first volume opens in the final stretch of pregnancy: a young Red Blood Cell picks up oxygen from the workers at the Placenta and meets a White Blood Cell for the first time. When tremors start shaking their world, the cells consult the Gene Library to figure out what's happening — a contraction, signaling that the body will soon have to survive on its own outside the womb.
The series reimagines the franchise's personified cells as younger, more childlike versions of their adult counterparts, and uses the format to walk through what actually happens in a newborn's body during and just after birth, including real complications like fluid in the lungs and early illness.
