Synopsis

Beard Science is the third full-length novel in Penny Reid's Winston Brothers series, following contemporary-romance heroine Jennifer Sylvester as she tries to escape her public role as Tennessee's reigning Banana Cake Queen, a title imposed by her mother's ambitions and enforced by her father's strict expectations. Desperate for a way out, she turns to Cletus Winston, the most enigmatic of the Winston brothers, for help. Cletus agrees to a fake courtship with Jennifer, but his own private reasons for saying yes complicate the arrangement almost immediately. Set in the small town of Green Valley, Tennessee, the novel combines the series' trademark banter and comedic misunderstandings with genuine emotional stakes as both leads discover what they actually want may not be what they set out for. Beard Science can be read as a standalone within the Winston Brothers series and was followed by a spin-off duology, Engagement and Espionage, continuing Cletus and Jennifer's story.
