Synopsis

Built across twenty narrative movements and opening with the legend of a pine tree that sheds birds, rain, or falling branches whenever someone lies, the novel blends magical realism, philosophy, and myth around a symbolic pomegranate tree — "the last pomegranate tree in the world" — beneath which pledges are sealed in blood.
