Synopsis

What passed between Cole Harding and Violet in their anonymous online conversations was supposed to stay buried in the past. But Ruby Creek is a small town, and when Cole — an ex-military man turned businessman, carrying his own heavy baggage — reluctantly moves there for a new venture, he finds Violet working as a jockey at Gold Rush Ranch, just as disarming in person as she was on a screen. When an injury forces Violet to recover under Cole’s roof, the careful distance they’ve kept collapses into close quarters, late nights, and a tension that refuses to stay buried. The second Gold Rush Ranch novel leans into forced proximity and second chances, pairing a guarded man who expects the worst of himself with a fierce young woman chasing her own place in the racing world.
